Emmanuel is a fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN). He is an Accounting graduate of the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Ogun State.
He has over 15 years’ professional experience in providing tax compliance and advisory services to local and multinational companies across industries. His tax practice experience covers Companies Income Tax, Petroleum Profit Tax, Personal Income Tax, Value Added Tax, Withholding Tax and Capital Gains Tax. He has also led many special tax assignments relating to Tax Due Diligence, Tax Audit, Tax Investigation, Tax Health Check and Tax advisory on transaction structuring.
He started his professional career with Akintola Williams Deloitte in 2002 and later joined a multinational telecommunication company in 2005 with direct responsibility for managing the company’s tax compliance and advisory needs. He was later recalled to Deloitte in 2010 as Manager in charge of Telecommunication, Media and Technology (TMT) and Energy and Resources (E&R) units of the Tax Advisory & Regulatory practice. In 2013, he was moved to lead the Global Employer Services of Deloitte Tax Advisory & Regulatory practice at senior manager level and later resigned in 2017.
Emmanuel has attended various tax trainings and seminars both local and offshore as participant and facilitator. He coordinated the first Deloitte School of Tax training in Nigeria on Expatriate Compensation Structuring and facilitated the leading topics. He also facilitates tax training for Lagos State Internal Revenue Service staff.
He is a regular paper presenter at ICAN Mandatory Continuing Professional Education (MCPE) and CITN Mandatory Professional Training Programmes (MPTP).
He has served in various committees and faculty boards of ICAN and CITN which includes Annual Tax Conference Committee of CITN, Indirect Tax Faculty Board of CITN, Professional Tax Practice Committee of CITN, Corporate Finance Faculty Board of ICAN and Taxation and Fiscal Policy Faculty Board of ICAN. He is currently on the board of Taxation and Fiscal Policy Faculty of ICAN.
Emmanuel has deepened his relationship with regulatory authorities in Nigeria as a result of his day to day handling of regulatory issues and =has a track record of speedy resolution of tax cases at states and federal tax authorities in Nigeria.
